Boosting Vaccine Confidence for Emerging Parents in Nigeria
Project ULE is an initiative focused on enhancing vaccine confidence among new and emerging parents in Nigeria by addressing misinformation impacting immunisation decisions. By actively listening to parents' concerns, we target factors contributing to Zero Dose (ZD) and Under-Immunisation (UI) among children, especially within urban areas where vaccination access can be challenging.
Key Phases of Project ULE
Social Listening: Weekly online and offline monitoring of social media and community sentiments to understand and address vaccine-related concerns. A custom immunisation taxonomy helps us categorise vaccine conversations effectively.
Co-Design of Social Behavioural Change Communication (SBCC) Interventions: In partnership with local stakeholders, we use Human-Centred Design (HCD) to develop, test, and refine tailored health communications that resonate with today's young Nigerian parents.
By bridging information gaps, Project ULE aims to improve vaccine knowledge, counter misinformation, and increase immunisation uptake, protecting more children across Nigeria. Supported by the Sabin Vaccine Institute, this project is a proactive step toward making reliable vaccine information accessible and trusted among Nigeria's young parents.
