Climate Change and Health

As part of the broader efforts beyond climate adaptation and to focus on mitigation, our team is also directly implementing or supporting focus strategies across the health system. We are leading target efforts for health systems digitalisation including deployment of health information exchanges and integration of health information systems, including immunisation information systems. We are also supporting health facility solarisation and cold chain expansion, operationalisation, and maintenance, funded by Gavi and the Nigerian government, including providing technical assistance for planned preventive and corrective maintenance of solar direct drive cold chain equipment. Lastly, we are also supporting policy development and implementation for healthcare waste management policies at sub-national level in line with WHO-recommended climate-friendly policies for healthcare waste management.
