Project Officer (Technical Writing & Partnership)

The Project Officer (TWP) is a junior role on our health division team and this colleague will spend 75% of his/her time playing a pivotal role in supporting the design of public health programmes through effective technical writing and strategic partnership development and 25% of his/her time coordinating projects and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the objectives of the Health Division.

Roles and responsibilities

The Project Officer will have a bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Communication, or a related field and have 2-3 years of relevant experience in public health project management, partnership and stakeholder management, and technical writing. Candidate should also have relevant experience to be able to provide technical expertise and guidance in workshops, expert/stakeholder consultations, in-country presentations, and coordination activities for programmes and projects across the country. Experience in engaging with government officials is desirable. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English. The candidate will possess good interpersonal skills, strong organisational, time-management, and prioritisation skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, will be comfortable showing flexibility and adaptability to handle diverse tasks and changing priorities, show attention to detail, and have the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

Some specific responsibilities will include:

  • Support the development, review, and editing of technical documents, reports, proposals, and communication materials related to public health programmes.
  • Support business development by identifying new business opportunities and preparing technical responses to them
  • Development of budgets for the financial aspect of the proposal submission.
  • Identify, cultivate, and manage strategic partnerships with external organizations, agencies, and stakeholders to enhance the impact and reach of public health initiatives.
  • Facilitate collaboration and communication between the Technical Writing & Partnership Cluster and external partners.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders, including programme managers, technical experts, and other clusters, to gather relevant information and insights for technical writing projects.
  • Represent the Health Division in meetings, conferences, and events related to public health and technical writing.
  • Implement quality assurance measures to ensure that all technical documents meet the highest standards of accuracy, consistency, and relevance.
  • Carry out any other task that may be assigned within their capacity toward the advancement of the organisation.
