Human Resource Manager (Learning and Development)

The Human Resource Manager (Learning and Development) is a mid-to-senior level role on our team who will spend majority of their time designing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating strategies to support performance management, employee growth, and progress within the organisation’s competency frameworK.

Specific responsibilities

Some specific responsibilities for the Human Resource Manager (Learning and Development) will include:

· Implement, monitor, and evaluate the company-wide competency framework.

· Conduct thorough assessments of organisational training needs through collaboration with department heads, managers, and employees.

· Build development and training programmes that enhance skills and career growth.

· Implement, monitor, and evaluate performance appraisals and feedback processes to improve employee productivity and ensure continued learning and development.

· Monitor and measure employer-provided upskilling of each employee.

· Evaluate company structure and design to achieve business goals based on findings from implementing learning and development within the competency framework.

· Actively integrate diversity, equity, and inclusion into learning and development strategies to promote a sense of belonging and contribute to an engaged, innovative workforce.

· Ensure that learning and development practices comply with labour laws and regulations and manage HR-related risks and legal matters to protect the organisation; and

· Review metrics and analytics to measure the effectiveness of learning and development programmes and make data-driven recommendations to improve these processes.

Competency requirements

The Human Resource Manager (Learning and Development) will hold a bachelor’s degree in human resources, psychology, business administration, or related fields. An advanced degree in business administration or human resources would be an advantage. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of relevant experience preferably in health and healthcare in international settings. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of labour and employment laws, and excellent written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English. Knowledge of French or Portuguese is an added advantage. The candidate will possess good interpersonal skills, strong organisational, time-management, and prioritisation skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications. The ideal candidate will be comfortable showing flexibility and adaptability to handle changing business priorities, show attention to detail, and have the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
